Jazz Fest

Received an email earlier this evening; it appears that at least one newspaper has let the lineup slip out. "Paul Sanchez & the Rolling Road Show" is there for Saturday, April 26. Here's the link for the entire lineup.

Paul, should we expect the complete cast of characters from the videos on the site? What a treat!! If you've never been to Jazz Fest, what are you waiting for?

Re: Jazz Fest

I honored and pleased to be part of the Jazz Fest 08' lineup. It won't be the same band as at Lafayette Square but I promise it will be a stage full of New Orleans musicians and there are a lot of them in town for fest.
thanks for the support all year to folks all around the country.
Come to Jazz Fest in New Orleans, it's a time when life here surpasses art in most places.
peace, love and jazz fest,
Paul

Re: Jazz Fest

I have always loved Alex's songwriting ability. He was in the band Royal Fingerbowl when I first moved here that had some wonderful lyrics. Unfortunately, the band did not survive.

Let's see if we can keep Carrollton Station's floor and sidewalk clean this year. :o)

Re: Jazz Fest

Possible only if the Pastor doesn't make an appearance. Something tells me he'll be there and poor Eric will have to deal with us again.

Re: Jazz Fest

Yes 'Poor' Eric will have to deal with a Pastor sized bar bill!

Jeff can you help out a bit more with the Jager this time?! :-o

Re: Jazz Fest

If we come down will we be allowed to hang out with the NC krewe (even though I can only stomach about one shot of Jagr per night)?
Phil

Jan 25th, 2008 - 11:20 AM
Re: Jazz Fest

Certainly! The NC Krewe accepts all.

Thats just the way we are. (hey we let Jeff hang with us)

Besides Joy and I are on a 'low Jager' Diet.
Oh it's high in almost every other form of liquor but low on the jager.

Re: Jazz Fest

Yea, drinking stuff that tastes like Nyquil on purpose ???? Not so sure about that. :) In fact I think we might be considering a new rule about folks we share hotel rooms with .... perhaps you should only be allowed to drink clear stuff if you plan to "deposit" it in the bathroom floor later in the evening/morning.

I hope you can make it Healey. Jazzfest really is aweseome. And probably more so for the bands you've never heard of than the ones you are already a fan of.

Re: Jazz Fest

Joy's last sentence sums up the way I sometimes judge my JazzFest expereince. Not so much by what I heard but what I missed to hear what I ended up hearing.

I don't limit myself but on many days in the past, I don't even make it to the 2 major stages. The Lagniappe Stage in the paddock area of the grandstand is still my favorite.

Every year that Squint brings in bigger and bigger names, the more the tickets have increased in price and the less it appeals to me. When I first came, the track was actually closed--everything was on the infield and I mean everything! I would duck under the railings and walk the track to get from point A to point B but there weren't anyone with flags saying you couldn't do that. Some would give me a quizical look because they didn't know what to make of me being on the track.

Imagine everything crammed into the infield today!

Re: Jazz Fest

Thanks Joy et al! I knew ya'll were awesome already. :) I've already been approved for the days off work, and will probably book our flight very soon. I've been wanting to go to Jazz Fest for many years, so it will be wonderful if that dream can come true.

Now the only question is, will the timing of the Friday Station show allow me to also see Robert Plant?! :-/

You can always check nola.com or the jazz fest site. Nola.com is always good about putting the cubes up quickly.
