Trying to find out the name of a song.
I have turned into a youtube junky for live music. I saw a post that Paul was singing the song started out "Its raining so hard, In fact its gonna rain all night." and the chorus has "drip drop" in it. The youtube post didn't have the title of song. I didn't know if this is one of Paul's songs or a cover. Either way it is one heck of a song! If anyone knows the song please let me know. Oh and if anyone knows how I can get my hands on some of Paul's older CDs. I have Wasted Lives and Bluegrass. Which is excellent I might add. The internet isn't much help in them tracking down. I have emailed a couple of CD stores in NOLA, but I haven't got any reponse, yet. Thanks! |

the song is called It's Raing by Irma Thomas. It's one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful ballads ever and New Orleans all the way. |

Mitchell .... you can try amazon for some of Paul's older stuff. When you search you can sometimes find used stuff on there. I was looking for some of his stuff for a friend once and ordered a few. They were still in the shrink wrap but they were the older release of WL&BG and JB&J. Newer versions of WL&BG have a couple of extra songs. Kinda cool. Failing that, order Washed Away and ask folks on this board to burn you copies of the older stuff. But order Washed Away first! :) |

I've got Washed Away and it is great, but like all compilations it doesn't have it all. As far a burned copies go, unless I know they are legal copies I don't want them. Amazon is a crap shoot and check it regularly, and secondspin.com only has two and no others on there list of CDs they want to buy. I lost the bidding on ebay a week back on a copy of Sonoma Valley. I am not even sure Paul's complete discography. The only one I have found is on Wikipedia and since anyone can put anything in those entries I don't fully trust they have everything. If anyone from NOLA had the inside track on a good used CD store. Please let me know. |

Mitchell, I have an extra copy of Jet, Black & Jealous, my wife and I both bought copies. I also have a copy of an acoustic show Paul & the other Lonesome Traveller did at my house a couple of summers ago, I am sure Paul wouldn't mind me sharing. I will send you an email. James |
