Papa Roux in Indy
I'm playing a show this summer in Indy at a restaurant called Papa Roux's. This is what the sweet folks there posted on their web site. peace, Paul We just couldn't be more excited about this one, folks. It was mid 2007, and we were struggling to open Papa Roux. Right smack at the intersection of Goodbye-Day-Job and Can't-Get-The-Restaurant-Open-On-Time, we met Paul Sanchez at an intimate concert hosted here in Indy. Paul was immediately the long lost brother and the friend we never knew we had. Before he finished the first song, we knew we would invite Paul to play at Papa Roux when the time was right. The time couldn't be... righter. Paul sings, and the world spins differently for a while. His stories live in you. You get the distinct feeling that yours live in him. And when he's finished, the world never quite looks like it did before. Yesterday's big struggles suddenly seem trivial. And, somehow, the trivial becomes worthy of a struggle. There's gonna be gumbo, and creole, and red beans and rice. Lots of flavor. Lots of soul. And oh yeah, we'll be serving dinner too. Come for food you know, and leave with new favorites in the world of music. Or the other way 'round. Seating is limited. Tickets are available now and are moving quickly. I can't imagine anyone in Indy not showing with that wonderful description of Mr. Sanchez and his body of work! Best wishes for a successful show. |

Paul - Justin stopped in for dinner a couple weeks back, which was really cool. The guys next door to the restaurant run a recording studio, and Justin saw this and was thinking we were gonna record the gig. Well, we weren't gonna, 'cause I didn't know if that would be kosher -- heck I didn't even know to bring my camcorder to Novak's last year and I was kicking myself when everybody else pulled one out.. heh. ANYWAY... Justin said you might actually be interested in having it professionally recorded. The acoustics in my place work out well, and I can arrange for it easily, so all you need to do is let me know and I'll make it happen. Funny to me to think that you could have a "live@PapaRoux" CD one day. What a kick. Anyway let me know and I'll be happy to put it in place. Best wishes for improved health, friend! As an interesting sidepoint - Barenaked Ladies do this - they tape every show and then sell them as digital downloads on their website. |

Another Indy show! So is this a reschedule of the cancelled one from this week? How do I get more info about this show? 'Cause I'm there, already, in my mind. Oh and I have the CD already to, and it's GOOD. |
