Curtis and I met with the CC staff and the reenacting commanders for the grand planning and staging walk-thru this past Saturday. Everyone was most cooperative and receptive to our ideas and requests. Not only are we in the heat of action portraying the 4th Ala, but what is left of us will be reformed, switch colors and come back onto the field on the left flank to portray the Maryanders for the final assault driving the Feds off the field.
Our biggest concerns for camping was lack of shade, and secondary, should we get an off site area, how could we get access to wood, water, and porta-jons. As already stated at the beginning of this post, John Hall was able to secure a wooded area for us to camp. As of yesterday, Suzanne of the CC staff has offered us porta-jons, a water buffalo and firewood. Now all we need to do is provide a work day to prepare our area and we’re good to go! |
