Most memorable moment...listening to ColDanny's summation and presentation at the Tennessee State Museum with my friends and their families. Trying to figure out who the hell you all were...we looked like the mob-dark suits and clean shaven faces. The Grand Ole Opry and hearing the announcer tell the nation on radio that the Confederate Military Forces were in town to present flag preservation dollars to the museum.
The beautiful drive down throught the Shenandoah Valley and East Tennessee...which brings me to Cross Keys. Friends, anyone who has driven Rt 81 to Southern Va. and beyond, can certainly identify with the pleasure I get at just the thought of the scenery encountered each trip. Don't take it for granted. There is ever increasing pressure to expand highways to move congested traffic which always, always leads to increased development. It's ironic isn't it. We want to see the scenery and visit our landmarks, yet Cross Keys and the surrounding Harrisonburg Va. area is in danger due to traffic congestion.
We are all part of the problem. For my part, I will make every attempt to carpool to events in the future and I encourage you to do the same when ya can.
