The Snyder Plantation (home of Camp Yuengling) is near Marion PA. Marion which lies along the I-81 corridor is approximately 15 miles North of Hagerstown Md and approx. 5 miles South of Chambersburg Pa. We are about 1 ½ hours from the Baltimore or DC beltways, an hour South of Harrisburg, 45 minutes North of Winchester.
For those traveling from the South.....The I-81 Marion exit (#10) is temporally closed to North bound traffic therefore I will route you from Exit #3.
~Coming from the South, get off the I-81 PA Exit #3 (Molly Pitcher Hwy) and turn left at the Stop sign, You will now be traveling North on Rt 11. Proceed 7.6 miles through the two Greencastle lights, and then on through several miles of rural farm land towards Marion. After traveling about 6 miles, you will see Shaff’s Mobile Home Sales on your left then TruckCraft. Shortly past that you will see a large time and temperature sign on your left. Four houses past that, turn left on to Frederick’s Mill Road (a small secondary road).
***Note: If you get as far as the CEB gas, garage and convenience complex on the right, you missed the road by about .2 of a mile.
~Coming from the North... I-81 Exit #10 Marion Pa
~turn Right off the ramp
~Proceed for about a half mile crossing a RR track and eventually hitting a Stop sign at Rt 11
~Turn Left (South) onto Rt 11 traveling a few hundred yards and turn Right on to Frederick’s Mill Road (a small secondary road)
***Note: if you get as far as the closed convenience store with the changing time and temperature sign on Rt 11, you’ve missed Fredericks Mill Rd by four houses.
All:
~Proceed on Fredericks Mill Rd carefully for 1 mile to Stop sign.
~Turn Left and cross the bridge (Welcome to the Snyder Plantation)
~Make an immediate Right over the bridge onto the dirt lane. You’ll see the cars parked on your left.
(For those of you using a homing device, the land address is 925 Lehman Rd, Chambersburg, Pa 17201. Caution: when you cross the bridge onto my farm, turn right onto the dirt lane.) |
