I too was shocked and greatly saddened to hear of Danny's death. My mother-in-law, Capt. Pappy Wilson's wife, called me that Thursday as well. I remember when Danny joined the 1st as a musician. I'll never forget that floppy straw hat he sported and his sense of humor which he still had when I last got to visit him year before last. We enjoyed several years of comradeship before the old 1st was broken up and Archer's Brigade was no more. In later years, we were able to renew that friendship. I'm proud to have known him and proud of the efforts he put forth to further the cause and the memory of those who fought for the right. And I must add that I'll NEVER forget that trip to Winchester, Tenn. we took in '84!
He was one of a kind. There can only be one Danny Snyder. My sympathies do go out to Linda, Bo, Charity and Becky and the grandchildren, as well as the officers and men of the CMF and the reenacting community. May his memory inspire those who continue on! Goodbye old friend.
