There was an interview with Jake on CBS yesterday. No point in posting the link;s apparently they didn't leave the vid on their site long enough - ah that 5 minute attention span strikes again! Plus it was only viewable to people in the US.
Hope Pam can put it up here eventually.
In it Jake spoke of the CCR5 mutation. It blocks the virus from hitting white blod cells - and may be what protected Paul.
AND yesterday's International Herald Tribune (links with New York Times so maybe it was there too)carried an editorial pointing out that becaue of CCR5 it is more likely through STEM STELL and GENETIC research that the solution will be found - one activist group even advocates concentrating on that and not a vaccine.
so : BIG KUDOS to stem cell/genetic researchers
