Thank you for your message. I have deleted it, with due respect, as this forum is not intended as a secondary posting platform for directors with interest to serve; for that purpose, you list at www.finddirectors.com. The intent of this forum is to create a community discussion about matters of governance, and you are welcome to participate.

Diversity & Governance

Hi Jens,

I'm currently starting my dissertation in lieu of an MBA I'm completing reviewing the importance of diversity in governance. My focus will be within the public sector, namely healthcare where representation of ethnic minorities on boards is mandated because of the assumption that diverse representation will equate to better solutions.

I've been able to access many articles written by Ingley, van der Walt, Shergill and Townsend. There focus however was primarily on publicly listed companies that measured value on financial basis but did not include social impact / value...

What are your thoughts on diversity... many scholars and practitioners are divided on this... are you aware of any other NZ studies on diversity or more specifically Pacific ethnic minority representation on boards / governance.

Thanks for the opportunity to discuss...

Cheers, Mac
