The Republican Senatorial Medal of Freedom has also been awarded to Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan and General Norman Schwarzkopf, which is the highest and most prestigious Award Republican Senators-U.S. Senate can bestow on an individual. Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole and Senator Alphonse M. D'Amato awarded Prince Buu Chanh with a personalized Eternal Flame of Freedom Brass Medallion and was nominated to have his name engraved on the Ronald Wilson Reagan Eternal Flame of Freedom monument in Washington DC.
