PETA (organizacija za etičko ponašanje prema životinjama) je postigla puno na promjeni stavova i ponašanja velikog broja žena, osobito zahvaljujući doprinosu slavnih osoba koje su sudjelovale u njihovim kampanjama (i pozirale radije gole nego u krznu) ali su se i privatnom životu odlučile za različite odjevne predmete od lažnoga krzna.

Tako se, na primjer, The Body, prekrasna Elle McPherson, odlučila za neobičan bolero-kožuh bez rukava pokazujući tako svoje duge lijepe ruke, potičući trend prsluka od lažnoga krzna.
Sienna Miller se odlučila za čupav bijeli ovratnik i isto takvo orukavlje na svome kaputu.
Uma Thurman na svoju je plavu grivu stavila crnu rusku šubaru, a čak je i Kate Moss koja s PETA-om ima neke neraščišćene račune, odabrala jaknicu s uzorkom leopardovog krzna.
Kate inače optužuju za dvoličnost i srebroljublje jer se ne odbija fotografirati u modelima od pravog krzna, a zadržala je i svoj ugovor s Burberryjem, tvrtkom koja se ne odriče neetičkog krzna, dok je istodobno, za 33 milijuna funti ušla u posao s Topshopom, modnom kućom koja se bori protiv upotrebe pravoga krzna.

The focal point of the anti-fur lobby is the right for every creature to die a humane death, he said, but in the wild that's impossible.
