Anyone interested in having a "player profile" done about them just let us know! Just send us a pic or two (keep 'em clean, this is a G rated website!) and we'll send you the questions to fill out, and get your info posted right away.

Re: General Topics!

In light of this new club starting up, and in order to fairly give people an educated decision process…I thought something(s) at least needed to be said, even if not listened to. I really don’t care if Joe/Clark/whomever wants to start another club, as their thoughts/opinions may or may not differ from those within the QCDGC. However, I do have a problem with those same people starting a different club immediately after trying to “dismantle” the existing club, in the QCDGC, in which their RESPONSIBILITY (not just wishes) was to help incorporate growth of disc golf within the Quad City area. What exactly is being said by doing so?
- That you want growth, but are unwilling to work with others to get there?
- That you want growth, but don’t respect the thirty to fifty paid members’ opinions enough to incorporate them?
- Your thoughts on disc golf in the area are the only valid opinions?

I’m simply lost to the reasoning. Joe and Clark have continued to support their decision to dismantle the club because they “thought it in the best interest of the club” and because (and yes, this was CONSTANTLY told to me) “there is nothing in the constitution that said they couldn’t do it that way.” What does that mean?…that because you can…then you should??? Again, I’ll never understand that.

But, when you are starting your “own club”, and blatantly slapping the 30 to 50 people in the face that you turned your back on by telling them that their opinion did NOT matter before…then what ARE you saying, and what ARE you trying to accomplish?

Does it mean that if there is a difference of opinion in your “new club” that you will suddenly listen to the difference? If so…then why wouldn’t you before, and how has you quitting the club and offering to help its growth suddenly made you change?

Does it mean that you just want to give people another opportunity to do things a “different” way? If so…then when you accepted your positions in the club, did you not take it seriously when you knew your OBLIGATION to the club was to abide by the members’ wishes…and not your own? And now, is your club going to accept different opinions…? If so…why couldn’t you before?

I guess what I’m getting at is this: if someone IS wanting to join your new club, and if someone DOES want to help you do your thing, do they know that their opinion does not matter? Do they know that you’ve already told your past commitments that their MAJORITY opinion was over-ruled by 2 (maybe 3) people’s thoughts? Do they know that your commitment to helping disc golf grow is actually just a commitment to helping disc golf grow the way YOU think it should?

Because no matter what way you look at it, no matter how right you think you might be, and no matter what angle it is spoken about…you’ve already told the disc golf community that you believe your opinion means more than the 30 to 50 paid members’. Do you somehow NOT owe those people an apology before re-slapping them in the face by promoting another club that YOU BELIEVE is a better way to go about it? Do you somehow NOT owe them all an inkling of thought before standing in front of a city board/park board/etc. and saying that YOUR club can fulfill the disc golf communities needs, after ignoring their thoughts already?

Re: General Topics!

Talk to Chris Sprague, Ace. He's ranked #38 in the world, and lives in Rock Island. I know he's been giving lessons on the side. I believe you can reach him at InnovaDsm@msn.com

Or, if you've visited the forums on iowadg.com, he's on there at times, and you could PM him there.

Good luck with your game. Enjoy.
