Hi! Jack-Lads,
Yes indeed,it was different in those days,we all helped each other.before independance when it was still Southern Rhodesia,,I was at RAF Bulawayo for two weeks, and I thought then what a beautiful country it was,and one of the more prosperous country's in Africa, the tobacco crop used to bring in a substantial amounts of money, and the white owned farms provided good employment, and good living conditions for its coloured workers, then Ian Smith wanted independence, and from then on it slowly went downhill, and the rest is history.
Its amazing how quickly they can get arms and men to all parts of the world quickly and efficently, but it takes a long time before any relief gets to these poor countries devasted,by natural disasters.makes you think.take care lads
God Bless
Tony |
