Iceland, like ALL whaling and sealing nations, depends heavily on its seafood exports. Its fishing industry makes up approximately 60 percent of Iceland's exports.

NOTE:

REFUSING TO CONSUME ANY SEAFOOD--EVER, is the MOST important way YOU can actively help end whaling, sealing and dolphin slaughter, worldwide. The 2nd most important?--offending nations must KNOW you are boycotting!!
A short note to that country's tourism board notifying them of the boycott sends a strong message that WILL be heard!

From May through September thousands of tourists flock to Iceland for a
single purpose--whale watching. This industry alone, brings millions of Kronas into your economy. Seafood accounts for 60% of your exports.

As consumers, we, the international community, have a powerful voice.
As long as Iceland chooses to annihilate the marine mammals of this planet,
with no regard for the rights of the creatures or the international moratorium it runs roughshod over, you will experience consumer boycotts...and they will GROW.

I urge you to bring an immediate and permanent halt to the slaughter of
the world's cetaceans, and begin implementing LEGAL PROTECTIONS
for them. Until this happens, you are destined to suffer increasingly
devastating economic losses to your seafood and whale-watching industry. This of course, will negatively affect businesses such as restaurants, hotels, bike and car rentals and others who depend so heavily on tourism.
I will be asking friends, family, co-workers, religious, civic groups and others, to boycott Iceland and its exports until whaling is history.
