This situation has been very confusing as of late. I have no idea about surface mail, all of this is regarding air mail. I've heard from a parent about 2 weeks ago that had a box returned to her. I've also had 4.5Kilo boxes sent to me that arrived with no problem. I've also seen boxes that weighed substantially more arrive here successfully (and were quite a bit larger... we termed one in particular "the midget").

The safest and quickest way of sending things is padded envelopes. They get here fast, PCVs don't have to pay duty on them, and you can fit almost anything in them. Boxes are bad. They are expensive to ship, take forever to get here. AND on this end you'll have to pay money to even get your box... which sucks.

I have heard a rumor of "M-Bag" deliveries, that take forever but are extremely cheap. Some of my stage mates used this to ship books to themselves, but I'm not sure if they ever arrived or really what the story is. Sorry!
