Re: have a phone at post?

although i left benin last june i know that cell phones were popping up all over. Motorola paid to wire the country all the way up to parakou and i know they are now adding it to nattatangou and malanville. Cell phones is big business in the third world and i know that it seems like all the beninese in the major cities are getting them. it is money for the american telecommunication companies so they pay to have them put in, but it is also a cheaper and far more efficient way of communication for the beninese. because they are so common i think if you are in a program in which the peole you live by and work with have them and you are willing to pay the money then i dont see the problem with it. i just feel you should try to live as much like the people you are surrounded by. my forster in beterou even had one. i never asked to use his but i am sure if i had offered to pay he would not have had a problem with it.

If I live alone, is it posible to have a phone

installed? Or is that absurd and laughable and

completely out of the question?
