I believe all the various spellings, ie John the Conqueroo, John the Conqueror and John the Conqueror root etc are accepted ways of spelling the name of the magical root that you describe.

i do see one lyric you have wrong.
you have "little john the conqueroo" it should be "john the conquerer root". this is the root which is used for love spells by many who practice what is actually voodoo.
it went with such other items as "goofer dust" and "mojo hand".
