BO DIDDLEY: Chess comp. albums climb best-seller lists

The 2007 compilation "BO DIDDLEY - The Definitive Collection" (Geffen/Universal) recently peaked at #2 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums Chart. During the month of August 2008, the album reached #4 on the on-line Cashbox Magazine Top Blues Albums Chart. The 20-track album compiles some of the best and most popular of BO DIDDLEY's Chess recordings from March 1955 thru September 1966, including such classics as "Bo Diddley", "I'm A Man", "Pretty Thing", "Bring It To Jerome", "Who Do You Love", "Hey Bo Diddley", "Mona", "Say Man", "Road Runner", "Pills" and "You Can't Judge A Book By The Cover".

The recently released Hip-O Select compilation "Road Runner/The Chess Masters, 1959-1960" was also a strong seller during the month of August 2008, with popular on-line retailer CD Universe currently listing the 2-CD set at position #2 in its Top 50 Oldies Music Chart; at #8 in its Top 50 Blues Music Chart and at #35 in its Top 50 Rock/Pop Music Chart.

This second Hip-O Select volume of BO DIDDLEY's classic Chess recordings covers all of his 1959 home and Chess studio recordings, plus half of his first 1960 session. The double CD also includes insightful liner notes by BO DIDDLEY biographer/discographer George R. White, plus complete track by track credits.
