In fact, the electric violin player on BO DIDDLEY's 1967 hit "Ooh Baby" was Eddie Drennon.
Eddie was briefly a member of BO DIDDLEY's band in the years 1966-1967, his distinctive violin playing appearing on a couple of BO DIDDLEY singles issued around that time: "Ooh Baby"/"Back To School" (Checker 1158) and "Wrecking My Love Life"/"Boo-Ga-Loo Before You Go" (Checker 1168).
Eddie later went on to front his own band, Eddie Drennon & BBS Unlimited, who had a UK Top 20 pop hit in 1976 with "Let's Do The Latin Hustle".
Thanks for getting in touch, Michael.

I've always wondered about the identity of the fiddle player on "Ooh Baby" (Checker 1158) 1966. It sounds a lot like the stylings of Don "Sugarcane" Harris, the late great Zappa fiddler and of course one half of "Don and Dewey". Can anyone confirm? thanks!
