Includes the following:

BO DIDDLEY - "Bo Diddley" (1955): BO DIDDLEY's debut recording and the song that introduced the world to the BO DIDDLEY beat, a unique, mixed-up rhythm that mixes blues, Latin American, hillbilly, spiritual, African and West Indian rhythms. Now widely acknowledged as one of the most influential debut records of all-time, BO DIDDLEY's November 1955 performance of the song on the Ed Sullivan Show was one of the earliest rock & roll performances on national TV.

BO DIDDLEY - "Say Man" (1958): A US Top 20 pop hit for BO DIDDLEY in 1959 and a landmark track which would later be an influence on many funk and rap musicians. Based on the African-American game or ritualized exchange of verbal insults known variously as "signifying" and as "the dozens", the song features BO DIDDLEY and band member Jerome Green trading good-natured insults over an infectious shuffle rhythm and is now widely recognized as being an important presage in the development of hip hop.

Muddy Waters - "Mannish Boy" (1955): Muddy Waters' answer song/cover version of BO DIDDLEY's 1955 hit song "I'm A Man", this affirmation of masculinity has gone on to become a blues standard.

Quicksilver Messenger Service - "Who Do You Love" (1969): A live recording of BO DIDDLEY's 1956 song "Who Do You Love" and a superb example of West Coast acid rock, the track appears on "Happy Trails", the second album by psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service.
