Question regarding this issue...

I am searching for my children's family lines on their father's side. My ex-husband's mother was adopted, I was told "from a woman on the Indian Reservation in Utah" but she was "banished", so none of her descendants are entitled to call themselves "Native American" or any of the usual rights that a Native American has. None of this made any sense at all until I read this story of the "Termination" in 1954. I don't want to disturb anyone, but I would like to get more information about this situation. I would love to talk with someone who could help me give my children some background on the people that they descended from. If someone would like to email me with any information I would love to hear from you, My children and I will be praying for all the members of this tribe who was unfairly ousted from their own family tree.
