Election: Obama and the the issue of race. Is he black?
Barack Obama
Well, once again (Not to my surprise) the Democratic Party is lost and only God knows who is going to save them. When it comes to bashing the Democratic Party I can go on and on, whether it be from the prospective of lack of leadership or lack of organization. And my harsh criticism is based on agape love; I think I expect so much from an organization that has nothing to offer. Well, enough said. The new issue pertinent to the 08 election is not about Newt Gangrich’s raciest ideologies especially regarding immigration, or his fornication with other women while he was married (mind you he was one of the driving force behind the Republican think tank that was trying to impeach Clinton for perjury). Rather the current topic is about Barack Obama’s racial make up. Some African Americans contend that he is not black enough; there premise is based on the fact his mother is White and his father is a Kenyan immigrant. Hence, they denote that Barack Obama has not black enough. Once again I want to interject this question to members of Geoclan. Is Obama black? If he is not black what is he? And what is the definition of blackness?

Obama is black enough for me but that has no say on how I feel about his politics and people need to think more wisely before they hit the booth. Obama seems to be smart enough to play the middle because he knows for now he has to appeal to the those conservative leaning left. He has the charisma to last this far into the race and seems to have caught the minds of some non-blacks who believe he's a second coming of sliced bread.
I support both minorities in this democratic race for their being a woman and black man and think either would be great deal better than Bush, whateva that means! I would want either candidate to improve education, the environment regulations, eliminate tax increases to the rich, affordable healthcare for all (if not free universal) among other things.

Really, are promises whether it is the “Ready for Change” rhetoric of Obama or Mrs. Clinton’s plan (god knows what that is) of our future is going to be implemented in the near future? In a country, that is polarized and was once for a short span of time homogenized by the tragic events of Sept 11. What can of changes are going to take place in this country, I mean really? Think about it. The truth is even if Americans are dissatisfied with their government the majority of them specially the middle class cold- heartily believes in the notion that America is the land of opportunity. A country where one can move up in the ladder of material success if he/she works hard. Come on, do you think Obama or Hillary is going to change the current military occupation in Iraq or the Hamas and Fatah problem in the Middle East? Clintonion notion of democracy which African Americans once revered has been tainted by recent comment of Bill Clinton, especially in turning the election process into a race issue. And Obama seems like he copied most of his speech from Kennedy inaugural speech; especially about the notion of “Change.” Come on, Politian’s will always be politicians. And the poor will always be poor regardless of the changes in tax legislation, because at the end a Politian always adheres to his constituents the individuals who finance his/her campaign for election/reelection. Hence, even if Obama or Clinton does worse than Bush, Americans well inevitably go on with their lives. There will be no riots like the one in Kenya or like the one in France. At the end Americans are content with what they have.
