Wax comb storage when not needed.

How do you store wax comb when not on the hive?

Re: Wax comb storage when not needed.

You can use some moth crystals in the area where you are storing the wax, I wouln't put them right on the wax though... If you leave them out ...the wax moths will find them and then it is ruined. You could also store some in a freezer if you had room.

I generally keep the supers on the hives until this time of year (after the first frost). Now that the temperature has dropped you should be able to store the supers with no worry about moths. I store mine in the garage where they will remain cold, but out of the rain. A storage shed would be just as good.

All of this keeps me from having to buy or use chemicals.
