Re: Remembering Maureen O'Hara

Still dancing, not performing as much, more teaching. We're doing a student recital on Sat 12/12. I'm calling it "Works in Progress" as we weren't quite done with everything (staging, etc.) We'll do another in spring with things finalized.

I caught The Quiet Man on TCM on Friday--so pulled out Black Swan and The Parent Trap to honor Maureen O'Hara. I played her commentary during Black Swan and some of her comments are a hoot. Very complimentary of Ty, too.

Now I'm rewatching Black Swan without commentary. LOL

Where I attend church, it was used for the Only but Lonely movie she did with John Candy. The church in the movie is our church, and our pastor told us that both Maureen and John attended mass every morning while they were in Chicago. Maureen also mentioned that she would attend morning mass with another Irish actor when filming a movie and if she wasn't ready to go, he'd leave without her. She always made a point to meet anyone with Irish background, so Ty was most certainly on her list.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
