That's a good question. I wonder if that was just fashionable for the times. Fred Astaire was another one that always wore a pinky ring. You see it pretty much in all of his films.

It seemed to be the same ring in all the pics I see, it looks like it might have a crest on it. I wonder if it was the same ring in The Eddy Duchin Story?

Something all fans want to know. :) I've never been able to get a really good look at Ty's pinkie ring.

My other beloved actor Ben Johnson also wore the same ring in almost all his roles, but it was just a large gold band on the right hand wedding finger so no doubt it was his wedding band.
