My name is Staale Hansen - I am a journalist in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation in Oslo, Norway. I am currently researching an exciting Cold war story involving personel from 3rd AF, South Ruislip in the 1950s and 60s.
Communications personel from this base served (at the time in secrecy) at two Norwegian air bases assigned to SAC in wartime. I would very much like to come in contact with some of them. The only name I have come across so far is Everett Kitzman, who is now desceased. He served in 7501 Support squadron and at AACS Eastcote.
The obscure units in Norway, staffed by South Ruislip personel, was named 7240 support detachment.
I would be very Grateful for any information about this as it is an exciting story and an important part of Norwegian history.
