Hi,
I have come across a photo of the president Warfield kept by my wife's Grandfather who was a Maltese Navy man, or Merchant seaman or such.
It has this handwritten observation on the back:
President Warfield
About 4,000 tons, over 14 knots
Carrying over 4500 illegal emigrant Jews. Interrupted by H.M.S. Ajax off Malta: 13.7.47 escorted to Haifa; giving considerable trouble
Is this of any significance?
