Irish unity should occur and there is no reason why it should be viewed as a threat to unionism.
Below I have outlined what I feel should be the blueprint for a United Ireland and I think it could satisfy all communities:

1.Nationalists give up their republican ideology while unionists give up the division of Ireland.
2.Britain's influence on Ireland is equal to that of the EU.
3.Enshrined into law is the monarchy's rights.These cannot be altered even by referendum,only by the disestablishment of the monarchy in Britain.
4.A new anthem-inclusive to all.
5.The complete removal of the British Army.
6.No chance of a return to the UK unless the whole island wants it.
7.A new flag that everyone can accept.
8.All 4 provinces have power under Dublin in a federal type structure.This secures unionist rights.London will overlook Dublin to allay unionist fears.
9.No oath of allegiance to the monarchy but it is optional.
10.ALL Irish politicians must take an oath to promise to uphold law and order in Ireland and serve ALL Irish people.

I believe this United Ireland could satisfy all people.
