I recently identified myself as a nihilist when I discovered the term and realized that it described my world-view perfectly. I have never ascribed any meaning to existence. However, I have always taken great comfort in this tendency and it is surprising to me to learn that many of my fellow nihilists see only the dark side of moon, so to speak, and use the philosophy to justify or at least fuel a depressed and antisocial lifestyle. If all of life is meaningless, apathy is as futile as anything else. "Bad" and "good" are equal - why do we assume that meaninglessness is negative? Where are the other satisfied nihilists?
