Thanks for your posting, Linda. To provide the documentation for the connection of each generation to the previous generation in your lineage back to fille du roi Charlotte Roussel and her husband Pierre Gauthier, start by obtaining copies of each record that you used to discover these ancestors: the records of their birth/baptism, marriage and death, one or more of which shows the name of the person, the person's spouse, and the person's parents. Start with your own birth/baptismal record, showing your parents; then the birth/baptismal record for your parent in this lineage; etc. For earlier generations, you could also use a copy of the page of a parish register listing the marriage, showing the couples' names and their parents' names. Also acceptable for earlier generations are copies of the page of a French Canadian genealogical dictionary that shows the same information (for example, René Jetté's Dictionnaire, or that of Drouin). Other records may also be accepted. If you apply for full membership, our Genealogy Committee may be able to assist or guide you in your search for records.
