The confusion that all of you have with the size 14 issue is not wheather she was a 12 or 14, but that sizing in the 50's was much different than it is now. As a seamstress I have worked with many vintage 50's patterns and sizing varies, but usually a 14 was around a 32- 36 inch bust. That is the equivelent of a 3-8 nowadays. Sorry to dissapoint you all. Though she was more curvy than today size 0's she was still by no means a large woman.
