Dr. Cooper and I surveyed the N. Pacific Garbage Patch last summer in an attempt to quantify the amount of plastic pollution in the N. Pacific with Captain Charles Moore the founder of Algalita Marine Research Foundation (AMRF). This past winter a team from AMRF sampled the said Garbage Patch of the N. Atlantic 700 miles off the coast of Bermuda. We would like to do a summer sample to compare seasonal data. Anyone interested in participating in this research by providing a ship of opportunity would be a part of some very contemporary research being widely publicized today.
