Much Worse

In a city stuffed to the rafters with food they were apparently starving and having to steal food.

What a lot of tosh!

Re: Much Worse

Hi John....for once I "Almost" understood most of the story.....& yes, it was a bit toshy - towards the end, Tom had great lumps out of his face & was bleeding after the kicking......very soon after, he was blemish free! a perfect face.......she must be a VERY good Doc!
Amazing

Re: Much Worse

My big problem was that Tom's pursuers apprently came after him unarmed, so had little more than their bare hands when the scientists' raiding party appeared on the scene.

Ok, I know guns aren't as universally available in Britain as in the US, but surely they aren't that hard to obtain - after all, Tom Price got hold of one without too much trouble. Is he the only armed man in London? And against almost any sort of weapon (It doesn't even have to be a firearm) those goon squads would be helpless, as a single hole or tear in their protective suits would be a death sentence. A sawn off shotgun could inflict devastating losses.

Also, does anyone else find Abby's escape (even with some inside help) a little unconvincing? In that rabbit warren, would she even have been able to find the exit, let alone open it? Given the danger of letting the virus in, there's be pretty strict security on the outer doors.

Still, it's exciting in its way. I'm "going along for the ride".

Re: Much Worse

Even sillier ...

Abby has been re-infected with a virus she has already created the anti-bodies for and suffers from a renewed dose? Is that possible? Once you've had, say measles, aren't you then immune from the measles virus?

Plus she tells the wife of Dr Death to keep away and then only hours(?) later hugs her crew? Shurely shome mishtake?

But remember fans it is NOT Survivors - it just shares the same name ...

Baa Humbug.
Enough with the negativity... (not really I love a good debate)

Loved this show in the 1970s and adore this new version. I am so glad that visually this show is getting grim and gritty. Someone even admitted they smelt this week. The plot holds together well or at least as good as the original. IN FACT on reflection the plot is more coherent. At least they have not discovered the entire population of Scotland hiding in in someone's shed alive and well like in the final episode of the original show (Now that was bonkers plotting).

I love this forum. It's great to watch this show and chat to people who love it and the original.

Are you new to Survivors, or watched since the 1970s? Looooooong time fan since the 1970s (long live Jenny's blue coat)

Re: Much Worse

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at the latest episode. Greg is coming over as so naive he hardly deserves to live, and I'm a bit surprised at Tom stopping to chat with Dexter rather than knifing him quickly from behind and then vanishing PDQ. That shambolic rescue mission put me in mind of Dad's Army.

Can't help wondering, though, when Samantha will meet Whitaker, and what will happen then.

Yes, but Dad's Army was at least mean't to be a comedy!

I'm pleased to see Greg managed to fully heal on the drive out from Manchester/Birmingham.

As did Abby who went from prostrate in the back of the Land Rover to dynamic rescue leader in the blink of an eye (Why wasn't she riding in the car anyway??)

Greg .....what or who is he exactly? It wouldn't surprise me if he dons a tutu and declares himself "lord of the dance" in the next episode

Blondie's sole mission in life appears to be to "service" the various men in the story. At least she is consistent and decorative I suppose.

So now we are mining coal are we? There would be such a need for coal of course It would be such a valuable commodity ....with no vast stockpiles of fossil fuels already scattered around the country.

Trigger is trafficking in people to get diesel (in dinky little 5 gallon cans) which would be as readily available to him as it is to new Mr Big Bad!

I'll gloss over the trial and the community apparently still happy to be led by a clearly deranged murderer who makes Tom Price look like the Pope! and Price himself allowing himself to be recaptured in what was clearly going to be a set-up.

I'm really starting to enjoy this series, it's so bizarre and unintentionally entertaining.

While it was sad to lose Terry Nation so young I'm also glad he didn't live to see this travesty.

Re: Much Worse

Yes John....I have written elsewhere that there are more plot-holes in new Survivors, than there is in a teabag!....agreed?
I agree with you about sexy-girl, she seems to know the best way to Survive...on her back!....the scene where Nadge comments on the "noise at night" made me laugh!
But the rest of the "story"..give me strength....If there is a 3rd season of this garbage made, I will be amazed.

Re: Much Worse

Can't see tonight's episode doing too well with the ratings seeing as it's up against The Brit Awards!

I for one will have to watch it on IPlayer

Re: Much Worse

Did anyone think tonight's episode reminded them of the Original Series 2 episode 2 - "Greater Love"?
They've finally killed off Sarah Bowyer (Anne Tranter), and it looks like once again they are running out of time to create anything impressive as next week's is the last episode. I guess there will be another cliffhanger at the end of the episode, and probably no season 3 to tell us what happened (an Italian Job ending!)
Nice to see Matthew Copley again, he gets around doesn't he, Tenko, Hornblower, Torchwood, now this. Anyone know if he's related to the late Peter Copley from "Fourth Horseman"?
