CF and diabetes

Treating diabetes in CF patients is not an easy task. In our CF clinic we see that CF patients with diabetes struggle with taking their insulin regularly. They don’t feel the negative impact of not being compliant.
The endocrinologist on the other hand wants to treat these patients in the same way as in the diabetes type 2 patients. This means that CF patients get different and sometimes opposite advices of the doctors.
In our country diabetes patients need to see the endocrinologist 4 times / year for else they can’t get reimbursement for their insulin.
We wonder how other CF teams deal with this. Do they encounter the same problems?
