Hi! Richard-Lads,
Amen to that Richard,when you think that these athletes train harder than any of these football stars,have to rely on sponsorshp to compete,and at least the lottery helped out a lot in thet respect.The likes of Rooney etc,who are getting exorbinate sums of money per weekk,live on millionaires row,have three or four top of the range motors in the garage,you can only drive one at time,and they think they are hard done to.I can remember after the war when all the leagues got going once more,Derby County had 7 internationals in their ranks,and were playing for around 14 quid a week with a couple of pounds for a win,and to play on that Derby pitch after half a season ahd gone it was like a muddy field,remeber when the Ref had to paint the spot in the penalty area before they could take the penalty,boy those were the days when footballers were men,now they are men who are just footballers.take care lads keep well
