I'm sure this gets asked fairly often, but I thought I'd get a "current" answer.

Will Sprint or Cingular phones which have the "international" features enabled work in BVI?

Should we be renting either a SAT phone, or Boat Phone?

Cingluar works quite well ~ in most areas I pick up the St Thomas tower and it's free roaming ~ otherwise if my phone reads cct boatphone, it's $2 per minute on my Cingular plan.

Fair Winds

Forget about Globalstar, it works only 5% of the time in the islands. Iridium works good.

Alltell work fine in road town but that was it.
Made arrangements thur their sat. phone partner, but phone never showed up.
