NFC Tags vs. RFID: What’s the Difference?

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring the differences between NFC (Near Field Communication) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). NFC works at a very short range (up to 10 cm) and is ideal for applications like contactless payments and data sharing between devices. It’s often used for secure transactions due to its limited range. RFID, on the other hand, can operate over longer distances and is used for inventory management and asset tracking. RFID tags can be passive or active, with active tags having their own power source to extend range.

What are your experiences with these technologies? How do you decide which one to use for specific applications?

Looking forward to your insights!

Best,
