First discovered him in 1984 when a college student. Had the privilege of seeing him live on five occasions, from 1986 to 2004. Before one such show, Toledo 1994, I met him in person and he signed my ticket. A great innovator and a great loss when he left us.

I've loved Ellas' music since the 50's. He is godlike to me. I recently became the singer/guitarist in a blues band and find great joy in doing his classic songs as well as lesser known ones (Little Girl, I Can Tell, etc.)

I feel as if I am paying tribute for all the great things he did....

I hope the family resolves the estate issues and we can all focus on his music, unencumbered.

Great site. I'm a long time fan of Bo's. I want to inform you that I wrote a book about him and his major influence on rock'n'roll. It's been released this late march. I had a unique position of being just off stage and recorded her and Bo "The Originator" Diddley jammin with the amazing Deacon Jones on the Hammond B3... later I was in the dressing rooms as she signed a guitar along with all the other artist there~~~yeah..I feel special!!!

I first saw Bo in a bar in Aliquippa PA, one of the many steel mill towns in the Pittsburgh area (circa 1962). Back then it was Bo, a bass player and Jerome on maracas. My band (me and my friend Lou on second guitar) played everything he recorded. The next time I saw him was on a tour boat going around Manhattan, with Debbie Hastings on bass. Then again on a cruise ship in 1997. No more Jerome, sadly. We hung out with him and the other musicians - just a great, down-to-earth guy that changed rock'n'roll music. Thanks, Bo. And thanks also to Debbie and Margo for reviving his career and getting him what he deserved.

I met this man in Boston in midc 90s and got to talk to my idol. He had just sliced his thumb and had many stiches. Still he was backstage preparing to go on. He was more concerned about a tooth prosthesis he had been talked into getting after a root canal. The man was in pain! Nothetheless he rocked and karate kicked for two hours then handed out his trading cards. One of the finest nights of my life. Then we talked about Ocala , FL and horses. I sure miss him and can say he brightened my life and influenced my music in many ways. RIP sir.

A friend of mine used to live a few houses away from Bo in Adobe Acres off gun club road, where Bo had his recording and practice studio next to his house! I can remember listening to him play on rare occasions! his m usic always always touched the soul! I also remember his lincoln continental that he drove for awhile and it eventualybeing sold to a man !on prosperity sw! I tried to buy it but never could! I wonder where it is now!
