I was just surfing around on the internet and found this website. I think it is great that you honored your friend in this way. I only served 3 years on active duty, but am now serving in the National Guard (we will be deploying 3AUG02 to guard the ******* at Pine Bluff) and feel just as much a part of the military family as all of the past soldiers that defended our country. I was with D-co 277 ahb then turned into E-troop 1/9 air Cav (air mobile), and hunter killer, I was in Viet-Nam from aug 70 thru aug 71. My mos was 67-y20, cobra gunship mechanic, and a crew member on a uh-1h, and worked on uh-1s,also oh-58,and oh-6s.we went from Lai-kay to,camp holloway, to camp evans for the 71 counterfensive, then to Cam-rhn-Bay, where the unit stood down and went to fort hood then the company turned into the 227 or the 229 and went i think to Ben-wha.I would like to hear from anyone that knew of my unit during that time. or any one that was with the 1st cav at that time. thanks and keep up the good work.

I coudnt tell if i knew any of you by youre recent pictures and i cant remember names i remember faces the way we were i remember a curley headed blond huey crewcheif we called limey becouse he spoke with an inglish accent i remember his gunner was tall thin haired guy with a mustache his favorite saying was im f--ked up to the onion another huey crewcheif we called country i dont remember his gunner another we called heavey he mooned me once when we were flying back to lei khe from a mishion i just learned last night that my crewchief died of cancer his name is robert fields so i know how you guys feel about dutch well enough for now triple nickle signing off
